This video took me back to learning video editing in middle school. Musicians should learn to do these basic things in an editing software so they can record and share their performances without needing to pay someone else to do it. The foley activity would be a lot of fun for students. I think theres a lot of really interesting and creative potential for creating sound effects with music. For example, having students time playing a xylophone with a video could be a fun activity. That might be for more advanced students, but earlier students could have fun just figuring out different sound effects. In my elementary orchestra class we did an activity where each person in the class added a line to a story and the rest of the class would replicate what sound it was on our instruments. This was not only an activity in creativity and abstract musical ideas, it actually made me feel a little more comfortable on the instrument.

Finding free sound effects was a bit of a challenge without creating an account. I'm always wary of making accounts on random websites, so I try to avoid it if I can. For this project it was easiest to just download the audio from youtube videos. There are tons of sound effects on there. However, if this was a professional project, the youtube compression coupled with the converter compression would make the audio unusable.
